We invite you to join us for the Families Supporting Adoption Southwest Regional Conference in Tempe, Arizona on November 4th-5th, 2011.

There will be a carnival held on the evening of Friday, November 4th  Friends and children are welcome to join you for a nominal charge.

Members of our local birth mother support group, 1 Birthmother 2 Another, will be at the conference accepting donations of items to assemble care baskets for new birth mothers.  Bring a donation (or 2 or 3) and we will give you an extra raffle ticket at registration.

The items they need are:

  • Large baskets or sturdy gift bags

  • Ribbon

  • Tissue paper

  • Journals (or notebooks that can be decorated) and cute pens/pencils

  • Small photo albums

  • Picture Frames

  • Scented candles

  • Scented lotion, bubble bath and bath salts

  • Candy

  • Fingernail polish/small manicure or pedicure kits

  • Slippers or fuzzy socks

  • Small blankets and stuffed animals

  • Books and music about adoption

  • Inspirational books

  • Gift certificates for massages, manicures, etc.

  • Gift cards for movies or book stores

  • Inspirational or adoption-related jewelry

 

The conference will feature presenters and panelists with a wide variety of experiences in different aspects of adoption.

Choose from over 35 classes with topics such as Adoption Basics, Infertility, Special Needs Resources, International Adoption, Adoption Advocacy, Post Adoption Depression, Avoiding Adoption Fraud, and Post-Placement Communication. More than 10 of the classes are specifically geared towards birth families and those who support them. Also hear stories of adoption from panels of Adoptees, Birthmothers, and Adoptive Parents.

Register online now! Regular registration runs now through October 28th. Late registration will run from October 29-November 4 for an additional $5 per person.
